Moving on from people and places is never easy. Though I'm used to change and I can't say I hate it, it makes me uneasy. A few days ago was my last day in San Diego... a city I've lived in basically full-time for the past six years. Though I knew moving on to San Francisco was and is a good (and necessary) move, I can't help but feel sad about what I've left behind: an incredible community, bursting with small businesses and a truly wonderful friend.
But even in a storm of emotion, I've already felt a sense of empowerment because I know I'll prevail. I know myself and I believe in myself and that's important.
I think today's message is to not be afraid of change but to embrace it. The worst thing you can do is idly stand by and watch life pass. That's where I was just a few months ago and I promise you, if you aren't satisfied with where you are in life or where you're headed, change it. You won't regret it!

I know how you feel! When my husband and I moved to WV from MN (the state that we'd both lived in our whole lives) we felt overwhelmed and alone and scared, but things do get better! :)
Best of luck in your new city. I'll be in SF a lot next year as I'm in a wedding there. Love SF!

i love this post. good luck in your new city--- sometimes change is perfect. this could't come at a better time either. i officially booked my plane tickets this week to move to london for two months next summer. it's the most spontaneous, longest, craziest thing i've ever done and i was starting to get nervous before this post! xo
Girlfriend. I graduated college in August and tried so hard to get to San Francisco. I applied for more jobs than I did in my own city. I know you will love it there. Such a beautiful and cheerful city. And you aren't TOO far from San Diego. I can't wait to see pictures. Cheer up, my darling. XOXO kaylyn
I totally agree - while it might be hard, embrace change! Sometimes the most challenging situations turn out to be the best! Good luck as you make the move!
Speaking as a Bay Area native, I think you'll love it. :) Are you actually living in San Fran or in the Bay somewhere? I definitely recommend taking a trip to Half Moon Bay and stopping in Pescadero for some artichoke bread and goat cheese with flowers in it. Best. Food. Ever.
Good luck love! You'll do great!!
Changes are always for the better!! Good luck :)

That last paragraph really speaks to me, thanks for sharing Allie! Good luck! :)
So excited for you to be in SF! It's the best!!! Change is so hard, and scary, and i'm sure you'll miss those sunny days in San Diego, but there are so many awesome things about living in SF that will make up for them!!
Change is really hard! Hoping that San Francisco holds great things for you!
Cheers to new beginnings and fresh, new cities! You're going to love it.
